We are a dynamic, values-driven community, offering an enriching and seamless educational journey designed to inspire and support boys from the age of 3 through to 13.

ENVIRONMENT

A Ten Year Journey

This ten-year journey offers a stable & supportive environment where boys can develop physically, emotionally and socially through the key stages of their growth and progression. In turn they will gain experience, learn skills and embed knowledge in a wide variety of disciplines: an exceptional team of dedicated staff inspiring excellence in every area supported by outstanding facilities and resources.

We are all-boys by choice, not simply by tradition: this approach extends a boy’s positive experience of school to all parts of the curriculum, maximising his potential.

TEACHING & LEADERSHIP

Our pedagogy embraces dynamic, hands-on teaching methods that cultivate academic excellence, personal growth, and leadership.

This empowers boys to become confident, well-rounded individuals who are intellectually curious, independent/critical thinkers, with authentic personalities and the ability to be comfortable with difference and socially adapt.

We continually assess our methods through an all-boys lens to ensure that we are best meeting their needs; this allows us to tailor the boys’ social development and emotional wellbeing alongside their educational growth.

At all stages, we are welcoming young boys into our care, who have unique personalities, innate curiosity and minds full of ideas. We see them as boys, brothers and sons, not simply pupils. We celebrate individuality and self-expression at school.

SUPPORT

We value the importance of a collaborative approach working with parents

In a world that is constantly evolving, we cannot predict the future career landscape, but we know that a positive mindset, and a range of prosocial qualities will always be valued.

In this long-term view, our measure of academic growth is not just in the grades or certificates continuously achieved here, but in the boys’ active engagement in what they do, whatever their level of mastery. Each boy has the same opportunity to reach their potential – in the classroom, on the sports field or on stage – and we expect them to be active and fully engaged in all areas of school life.

By committing to our longer timescale, parents will better see their son’s growing strengths and passions, helping inform the decision on where he should continue his education. We do not prepare for 7+, 8+ or 10+ transfers, but provide outstanding, bespoke support for 11+ and 13+ applications.

We are mindful that all our boys will eventually transfer to another school. Our aim is, therefore, to develop outstanding individuals who will contribute positively to their communities, embrace new opportunities and possess excellent learning skills. With the ability to excel in any chosen field, they will be well prepared to thrive at top schools beyond Arnold House.

Values

Industry and Citizenship

Industry encapsulates intrapersonal skills, such as ambition, attention to detail, practice, preparation, determination and a growth mindset.

Citizenship promotes qualities of teamwork, collaboration, public performance, care, helpfulness and emotional intelligence.

Both Industry and Citizenship are extended into all areas and year groups of the school by our emphasis on the ‘Three Rs’: at all times we teach boys to be Ready, Respectful and Responsible.
